Some teacher organizations celebrate "Teacher Appreciation Day”. This certainly seems to be self-serving at best. Arizona Professional Educators wanted to commemorate a day that:
- had special significance not only for educators, but also for all Americans
- focused on the fundamental principles that have molded the United States in to a model for all liberty-loving nations
- reflected the Professional Philosophy that AZPE was founded upon.
Constitution Day not only clearly filled these criteria, but was also a day that, unknown to many in education, was mandated by federal law to be celebrated in every school.
